LIDAR

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2010/05/photogalleries/100520-ancient-maya-city-belize-science-pictures/

A 3-D map shows the buildings and topography of an ancient Maya city.

This is a LIDAR map because it uses lasers to bounce off the ground and contruct what was there before the growth of trees took over. This map reveals the Mayan city in Belize.
