Doppler Radar

http://www.srh.noaa.gov/tae/?n=event-200606_alberto

Doppler radar base reflectivity image from the KTLH Doppler radar valid 1619 UTC 13 June 2006 showing Tropical Storm Alberto near the time of landfall along the Florida Big Bend coast.

This is an example of a doppler radar because it uses the doppler effect to produce velocity data about objects at a distance. this map shows a storm in the tallahassee area. the different colors denote the serverity of wind.
