Black and white aerial photos such as this could be taken from a plane, helicopter or balloon. Many suburbs of central and southern Florida were once part of the wetlands of the Florida Everglades. Though uses of canals such as this and various other methods, developers were able to drain much of the swamp land to make way for new subdivisions, golf courses, and outlet malls. Once most of the Everglades was retired in Florida, the snowbirds followed.

Scatter Plot

http://www.stat.yale.edu/Courses/1997-98/101/scatter.htm

A scatter plot is a line made of dots where the average can be assumed by placing a line of best fit. This is an example of what a dot plot would look like where the the correlation is close to one, showing that the points closely resemble a line.

Population profile

http://2010.census.gov/2010census/

1979 automobile analysis using star plot

This shows the analysis of 16 cars based on mileage, head room and other attitributes the denote the worth of a vehicle. This is a star plot because it has spokes the represent one variable. The data length of a spoke is proportional to the size of the variable for the data point relative to the maximum magnitude of the variable across all data points. A line is drawn connecting the data values for each spoke making the figure resemble a star.

Hypsometric maps
